Oil and Gas Warehouse Expansion

Project Summary

  • Spruce Grove, AB | Completed 2026

  • 132,500 square feet

  • 3 different client representatives over the life of the projects

  • 6,000 extra square feet from one smart move

What Mattered to the Client

Safety and speed. The client needed absolute compliance with hazardous materials handling and they needed it fast. With three different cycling through on their side, continuity became just as critical as regulations. Someone had to remember everything.

What we Built Together

We became the memory. When the client’s third representative came on board, our record keeping meant no one started over. Every document, every decision, is ready to hand over. The client was free to re-assign their representatives, knowing that we had their project under control.

We navigated the design-build structure. The GC held the design team so visibility wasn’t automatic. We asked the questions anyway and made sure the client never felt locked out.

We spotted what others didn’t. The fire pump room that almost got missed. Long lead items ordered before they became delays. Site grading that would’ve caused headaches later.

We found a better home for the offices. Moving them to an existing building gave the team separation from the warehouse floor, revitalized neglected space and freed up 6,000 square feet for extra storage. Better outcome, same budget.

The Result

A fully compliant warehouse was delivered safely. A client who never lost confidence despite internal turnover. And 6,000 square feet of storage that wasn’t in the original plan.

What they said

“Lawson Projects was the thread that held this project together through multiple leadership changes. Their record keeping saved us countless hours, and their proactive approach caught things we never would’ve seen coming. They didn’t just manage—they owned it.”
